Winter Solstice – Christmas Day 2012

Winter Solstice are a five piece folk band hailing from Brisbane town, Queensland. Ari, Rosie, Kez, Mitch and Joy met while studying music together at Southbank and came together to form Winter Solstice. Each brought their own varied tastes in musical genres including folk, classical, jazz, pop, metal, etc. to the melting pot to create the
rich harmonies, complex melodies and infectious rhythms that is their sound.
Whilst studying the band played many gigs together in venues such as The Globe, The Zoo, The Hive and The Prince of Wales Hotel; as well as playing at events such as the 4 Walls Festival in Kelvin Grove. Now having completed their diplomas, Winter Solstice are in the process of promoting their new EP which was released in October 2010. From here Winter Solstice plans to bring their music to the rest of the world, who we’re sure will
welcome it with open arm
